Wealthy punters pay £3,500 per day to patrol the most dangerous waters in the world hoping to be attacked by raiders. Is it the End of Amazon’s Affiliate Program? Posted: 27 Jun 2009 06:51 AM PDT If you make any money from Amazon’s affiliate program and you live in North Carolina or Hawaii, I have some really bad news for you. Amazon.com Inc. closed accounts with its affiliates in North Carolina to avoid paying a proposed sales tax, according to media reports Friday. In an email, Amazon reportedly told marketing affiliates in the state that the move was a direct result of North Carolina’s push to levy a tax on purchases made through Amazon affiliates. Similar legislation is pending in California, and Amazon has threatened to drop the program there. If this passes in California, I might have to move my business out of the state.
